Workshops are organized throughout the year, led by experienced tutors,
for a reasonable fee. These are open to all members on a 'first come,
first served' basis.
Painting from Life Models can also be arranged, for an additional fee,
when sufficient numbers make this viable.

This workshop will develop an understanding of advanced drawing techniques using pencil, charcoal and pastel.

How to Make Your Pictures Appear 3D
This workshop will identify and explore the essential elements needed to produce a 3 dimensional image on a 2-dimensional surface. Will include exercises to hone observation and drawing skills and then a 'bigger picture' in the medium of your choice.

Ways with Water and Reflections
A chance to experiment and try out a variety of techniques for handling water in all its forms, from rushing rivers and surf to lakes and puddles.

Still Life in Mixed Media 'Towards Abstraction'
We will work from a large group of objects on an A2 paper making use of the materials properties i.e. how they work together or against each other. It is likely that some students if they wish could move towards abstraction.

Drawing from the clothed figure using principles, form, structure and tone that can be applied to all subjects from still life to landscape. How do we apply foreshortening to legs and arms and also trees?

Students to do some research on the Somerset Levels or other favourite expansive landscapes and skies before the workshop, medium will be charcoal and limited palette of pastels. Working on large supports.
